    Hi,
    Sorry that I am not the best at reading schematics and comparing to the board. My wife purchased a DIY NCS314 2.2 for me, and I am really enjoying putting it all together. However, I am stuck as U5 (DS3231). I see on older revs (as recent as 2.0) that this chip is large (16-pin), but in rev 2.2, my chip is only 8-pins. I can’t figure out where to place the chip, as U5 has 3 rows from top to bottom:

    ROW 1 (8-pads) *
    ROW 2 (4 pads)
    ROW 3 (8 pads) *

    * for the 16-pin DS3231.

    Wondering if I place it between ROWS 1 and 2 or 2 and 3? I see 2 different PIN-1 dots too (ROW 2 and ROW 3).

    Thank you for your advice!

    Sorry just seeing this now as I’m browsing the site. Did you figure things out or do you still need help?

    The DS3231 comes in two sizes. The NCS314 2.2 board is designed to accommodate either. The top 4 pads on the top (left) are used for either size.

    In other words, the chip goes in the top left regardless of the size.
